T-Shirt Quilt Meetup

T-Shirt Quilt Meetup with Alla Blanca

Tuesday January 15, 2019   10:30-1:30 pm

Ongoing: 3rd Tuesday of the month: February 19th, March 19th, April 16th

Always wanted to make a t-shirt quilt?

Have heirloom clothing items, bits of embroidered linens, or orphan stitching projects that you want to "do something" with?

Now's your chance. This class is for ANYONE, regardless of sewing or quilting experience.  All you need to know is how to operate your sewing machine.

This class is taught in an ongoing fashion, as each project is highly individualized to the t-shirts or other textiles involved.  Bring your t-shirts (or other clothing, linens, stitchery blocks, etc.) to the first session and we will learn how to prepare them, and some ideas for the quilt/project you will design.  Following sessions will be time for design and working and lots of assistance with constructing your project.

Cost:  $25 first session, then $20 each for any further sessions

Experienced sewists and quilters may want to make more complicated designs; this is encouraged, for those who have the skills to tackle it.  A few pattern ideas will be shown and discussed.

Supply list:

Sewing machine in good working order (not needed for the first session; BUT if you have questions, please bring it)

Rotary cutter

Optional: rotary cutting mat and ruler (12 1/2" square, 15 1/2" or 16 1/2" square, or 6x24" are good sizes)

Basic sewing supplies: scissors, seam ripper, pins, thread and bobbin for your sewing machine

Date: 01/15/2019
